WELCOME
The Manheim Touchdown Club was founded in 1998 as a non-profit organization “for the purpose of development, promotion, and support of Manheim scholastic football, including recognition and financial aid for exceptional student athletes within the greater community”.
Initially, Coach Mike Williams and founding President Jerry Kulp brought together Manheim area business leaders to discuss ways in which to fund football related capital projects which could otherwise not be funded by the Manheim Central School District.
Over the years the MTC has not only benefited the Manheim Central H.S. football program but also has become an asset to all member schools of the Lancaster-Lebanon-Berks Football League. It is recognized as a leading promoter of high school football in Central Pennsylvania with the Tri-County All-Star Football Game and the annual MTC High School and College Awards Banquet in the month of May.
The Manheim Touchdown Club has awarded scholarships annually since it’s foundation. The scholarships recognize the academic accomplishments of seniors, both male and female, who are active in sports and who exemplify character, scholarship and athletic ability.
Since 2004, the Manheim Touchdown Club has recognized the top lineman in NCAA Division ll football with the Gene Upshaw Division 2 Lineman of the Year Award. The award is named in the honor of former Texas A&I offensive line standout, Oakland Raider and Pro Football Hall of Famer, Gene Upshaw.
