The new Manheim Central Scoreboard was installed prior to the 1999 season at a cost of approximately $60,000.00. This amount was raised or otherwise facilitated by The Manheim Touchdown Club through a combination of direct fund raising as well as the generous donations of time and materials from several Manheim area businesses and the donation of time on the part of many individuals in the Manheim community who assisted in the construction of the supporting framework and the attachment of the various components of the board. In addition to being larger than the original scoreboard, the new board includes an electronic message center which has the capability to produce scrolling messages which are visible throughout the stadium. The messages are used to generate enthusiasm among the spectators as well as provide a means for promotional advertising and other special messages.
